In every democratic society the president has various means to listen to the citizens that have elected him either directly or through their representatives in parliament. In Lebanon, the general public does not have such a chance and the president should not only listen to the skewed opinions of the various sectarian leaders who are mostly governed by their own interests and foreign influences that are mainly against Lebanese goals.
This forum intends to allow every citizen to talk directly to the president without intermediaries. We hope that this will give the president the opportunity to listen to the hopes and aspirations of the people and their dreams of a better future.

Dear Mr. President, don't you think that all the members of government, who are meant to represent me the citizen, should wear pins of the Lebanese flag on their lapel instead of pins denoting their political leanings?

Mr President,
The government of the United States is being generous towards the Lebanese people, but many ministries are abusing the money the American people are donating through their taxes, and they expect their tax money to be spend on the lebanese people and not on special interest. The American People expect you, personnally, to keep a close watch on their generous donations, regardless previous favoratism and wars, they chose a new path of peace and unbias toward all the people of the middle east and they are urging to crack down on all abuses, wether in the JUDICIAL SYSTEM or the tourism/electricity/education ministries.
The American people are watching online all events aroung the GLOBE!!!
Lets not dessapoint them and look bad in front of everyone and please forward this message to Mr HARIRI.
Thank you
Dan Majdalani.

Monsieur le Président,
Peut-on imaginer puis réaliser davantage un rapprochement entre la France et le Liban en terme de infrastructure ferroviaire. Je pensais à un train qui lierais Paris à Beyrouth....
Cordialement,

Your Exellency: The most important accomplishments are to induce the people to think one LEBANON deeply, clean-up administrations, try to make the politicians think Country, and to have one force applying all laws on all the citizens regardless of religions or attachments. May GOD bless you...

Dear Mr. President,
I am sure you are receiving a lot of messages, but I hope you will be able to read mine.
I am a member of a club in a region that was known to be a borderline during the past Lebanese Civil War. Through this club we use activities (sports mainly) allowing the children and young people of this area to have a place where they can practice healthy habits and learn to be good citizens. We continuously work to offer them opportunities in this context. However, many times we face this wall of "narrow minded politically driven fanatism" which is eating up our YOUTH and their minds.
It bothers me a lot to see that the main role of our young generation is to listen to speeches and clap their hands to politicians. How are we to integrate our YOUTH in society like this? Is it a destiny that only Politicians children get to play a role in this society?. There are a lot of opportunities out there for Young people to take part it and be active, productive and open minded.
I have a strong belief in the capabilities of Youth in my country. If given a chance, they can excel. All we have to do is to make sure that they are given the RIGHT CHANCE, not only used as a number so that politicians race each other in "who will collect more".
Youth deserves better. and I think that the civil socitey should be supported.
Thank you

Dear MR. President,
Political problems in Lebanon will never end however the government under your wise leadership should start tackling the economic issues immediately and not wait for the political problems to be resolved first. One main issue is WHEN CAN THE LEBANESE LANDLORD WHO OWNS A RENTAL PROPERTY BE ABLE TO LIVE FROM ITS FAIR RATE OF RENT. Most of the rents are from the seventees when the US$ was 2-3 Lebanese pounds. Now the US$ is 1500 Lebanese Pounds. Forexample a rent of Lebanese Pounds 6000 from the seventees which at that time was worth US$ 2000-3000 is now according to the various government formulas equivalent now to US$ 250-300. Many of the tenants are capable to pay but are enjoying the old rental agreements which keep on renewing as the new RENTAL LAW was drafted but never passed. MR. President, the old rental agreements have made the tenant to be the owner while the original owner is not able to live from the income of his own property. When is the government going to pass the NEW RENTAL LAW and make it free according to demand and supply. In its present position the tenant can even pass the rent over to one of his family members. IS THIS FAIR????
